
PA66 reinforced with 25%~30% glass fiber achieves enhanced rigidity, flexural strength and dimensional stability, alongside reduced molding shrinkage.
Charging bases sustain repeated plugging forces over long service life. Unreinforced plastics tend to deform and cause loose socket contacts. The glass fiber reinforcement effectively resists creep, maintaining stable socket spacing and consistent plug fit. It also improves structural toughness to withstand daily drops and impacts without cracking.
2. Flame Retardant Formulation for Electrical Safety
The composite flame retardant system enables a stable UL94 V-0 rating at 1.5mm thickness. In case of internal short circuits or overheating components, the material restrains flame spread.
It provides favorable Comparative Tracking Index (CTI) and arc resistance, preventing surface tracking and arc carbonization under humid conditions, complying with safety standards for power tool chargers and socket bases.
Two mainstream formulations are available:
Brominated flame-retardant reinforced PA66: High cost performance and outstanding flame retardancy;
Halogen-free flame-retardant reinforced PA66: Low smoke and non-toxic, suitable for export markets such as EU and North America.
3. Heat Resistance & Insulation Advantages of PA66 Matrix
Compared with PA6, PA66 features a higher melting point and continuous service temperature. Transformers and circuit boards inside charging bases generate persistent heat. Thermally stabilized PA66 slows thermal aging, preventing embrittlement and deterioration of insulation performance under long-term warm conditions.
The inherent insulating property of nylon separates live components from the outer housing to avoid electric shock risks.
4. Inherent Limitations & Optimized Solutions
Nylon naturally absorbs moisture, which slightly reduces mechanical strength and insulation performance after water uptake. Targeted improvements include:
① Low glass bloom grades for consistent surface appearance;
② Hydrolysis-resistant and thermally stabilized modified formulations to boost stability in hot-humid environments;
③ Coordinate product structural waterproof design to minimize humidity impact.

Power tool lithium battery charger bases, socket bases, adapter housings, insulating bases for small energy storage power supplies.
